1. Business Manager

We are looking for an experienced, full-time Business Manager to help take our growing business to the next level! The ideal candidate will develop new efficiencies in our operations through inspirational and consultative employee management and detailed oversight of complex projects and paperwork.

Job Responsibilities

  • People management:
    • Supervise administrative and operations team members in day-to-day tasks
    • Provide feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness of team
    • Focus employees on solving problems rather than reacting to them
    • Take advantage of every opportunity, both formal and informal, to enhance the skill and growth of all team members
    • Energize the team by encouraging discussion of “what’s possible,” problem-solving, and ownership
  • Project management:
    • Develop streamlined internal systems to ensure rapid and accurate execution of the extensive paperwork and logistics behind each solar project
    • Ensure that the company has the adequate and suitable resources to complete its activities (e.g. people, material, equipment etc.)
  • Implement ongoing business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals
  • Maintain relationships with partners/vendors/suppliers
  • Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and create reports
  • Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines
  • Demonstrate positive energy at all times

 

Requirements

  • Proven success as business manager or relevant role in a start-up, small or mid-sized business
  • Thorough understanding of diverse business processes and profitability strategies
  • Possesses both critical thinking capability and hands-on business plan implementation experience
  • Very detail-oriented and organized
  • Adaptable and stress-tolerant
  • Great at multi-tasking and managing simultaneous projects

Location: Based in historic Downtown Murphy, NC, we are 2 hours north of Atlanta, 2 hours west of Asheville, and 2 hours east of Chattanooga. 2. Solar Sales Professional (Outside sales)

Position description:

  • Outside sales – work to close solar project leads via in-home and phone sales
  • Accurately describe features and benefits of solar power systems to interested customers
  • Conduct analyses of customers’ current and projected electrical usage and financial ROI
  • Take photos and measurements of projected job sites
  • Log all communications with customers in CRM contact database; strong organizational ability required
  • Represent company to highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • Commission based position with base salary, potential for high wages for high performers

 

Requirements (MUST have)

  • This position requires drive, self-motivation, the desire to help customers, confidence, and a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • 2+ year successful track record meeting or exceeding sales targets, building a new book of business and growing a market
  • Experience generating customer leads; exceptional follow-up and customer service skills
  • You should be entrepreneurial as well as very organized and process-oriented. Self-motivation, discipline, stress-tolerance and resilience are required.
  • Microsoft Office, basic Excel skills, math skills (incl. basic algebra)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, as well as the ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance; must be flexible working non-traditional hours including long days, plus weekends and evenings
  • Valid state driver’s license and insurance, clean DMV driving record, and ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Reliable transportation (your own vehicle). Job sites are usually in Clay and Cherokee counties, NC, and Union and Fannin counties, GA; may extend further north, east, and south. Office is in downtown Murphy, NC.

Physical requirements (MUST have)

  • Able to perform solar site visits for rural homes, farms and businesses in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, humid, dry, rainy, etc.)
  • Able to climb a 20-foot ladder, walk on uneven and unstable surfaces (e.g. stairs, slopes, dirt, mud), carry and set up a ladder weighing up to 30lbs, bend, stoop, kneel, grip, twist

  • College education
  • CRM experience

3. Administrative Assistant

Job Parameters

  • P/T to start (20-30 hrs per week) with possibility to rapidly progress to full-time (35-40hrs). Office hours are M-F with very occasional weekend work for special events. Office at warehouse location in downtown Murphy. Pay commiserate with experience.

General Job Description

  • Represent company as first point contact for customers
  • Manage incoming customers and vendor calls and emails
  • Use computer software (Word, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Excel) to accurately complete the numerous technical forms required to in solar installations; record progress of form completion(s) in client files and checklists
  • Participate in team meetings and create action item checklists for follow through from team
  • Perform data entry in Word and Excel files as requested
  • Maintain physical and electronic client and company files by scanning and saving documents into computer and filing hardcopies in paper files
  • Writing business emails to customers and vendors
  • Creating internal documents and checklists to improve office systems and accuracy
  • Maintain order and stocking of office area through regular inventories, scheduled organizing, and reordering of supplies
  • Record completed tasks on daily, weekly and monthly checklists
  • Regular tidying and light housekeeping to maintain office cleanliness
  • Other tasks as assigned – room to grow based on your skills and experience!
