This solar array belongs to an artist in Hayesville whose stunning works are displayed at various museums and private collections throughout the country. His sculptural artworks are made via an energy-intensive heating process, which in turn creates substantial utility bills.
To lower the bills, we created a custom-built ground- and roof-mounted system. It incorporates a rack-mounted array on the ground, and a small roof-mounted row of panels. Plus, we built two wooden awnings around the studio’s new outbuildings, and mounted a solar “roof” onto the awnings. The combination of the rooftop, awning and ground-mounted panels make a 35kW system.
