This project was a lot of fun for us. The owner of a working cattle farm in Hayesville asked us to build a solar array to offset utility bills driven by the farm’s needs and several large freezers continually running at the farm store. This was a two-phase project, built over two years.
Phase 1 consisted of a 10kW system, consisting of four 2.5kW solar “trees” (top-of-pole mounts). We returned the next year to build phase 2 of the project: six more solar trees that brought the total capacity of the system up to 25kW.
