The owners of this small farm in Hayesville wanted to maximize their energy independence and take advantage of the great sun they get on their property. For phase 1 of the project, we built a 12.25 kW rack-mounted array on the ground in the horse pasture (fenced off to protect their amazing Belgian draft horse!) We returned the next year to build phase 2: a 4.48kW roof-mounted array on one of their outbuildings.
Combined, this ground- and roof-mounted combo system is 16.73kW.
These homeowners appreciate that, with some alterations, this system can be converted to an off-grid power system for their farm. In the meantime, it generates energy and value for them via the Green Power Providers program.
